Xena went into heat this week. This is the first time I've had a dog in heat and so far so good. She doesn't like her doggie panties but she leaves them alone so that's good. I just wanted to share this picture because I thought it was so funny. She looks like she's lounging in a bikini.

No we don't have a male and after seeing what you're going through I'm thinking if we get a male sometime it will definitely be after she is spayed.

I think Leia is going into heat - never had a female dog before. Never had a dog that wasn't "fixed" by about 6-8 months. Interested to see how this goes.
So far her area just seems slightly swollen and she is licking and cleaning her self a lot. Panties are so funny - wondering if I should have some on hand just in case?

Yes, I take them off when she goes outside, when she's in her crate, and at night. She is definitely bleeding enough that she'd be leaving spots on the carpet and furniture if she wasn't wearing them though.

Remi started her season yesterday. I have simple solution pants for her xxl that come in a 2 pack and are washable but she HATES them. I have the equivalent of a onsie for dogs called a "suitical" which she can't get off and looks like part of her working gear (she's my service dog) we did trial runs wearing it so she wouldn't be freaked out when it was imperative that she wear it. This was not the Christmas present I wanted. Remi turned 19months old Sunday and this will be her first full blown season. The other was very brief, just swelling but little to no discharge.
