@chuckorlando: no Corso has that much ego.
Seriously though ... can't believe the complete ignorance of some people. I've always had shelter dogs but even then, I saw the dog, figured out the breed or likely mix, went home and researched it and then decided whether I wanted to go that direction. I knew going in that I'd be paying more for vet services and medication, etc. It blows my mind when people pick a dog (or more likely, a puppy) because it's "cute" or the fad thing or they want a certain reputation. It's just like you guys say, a "breeder" showing off the dog's teeth is playing right into the "big mean pit" deal. I've known people who go through animals like other people go through tissues: they think they're just cheap, disposable "items" instead of living creatures with lifelong social attachments.
And I know no one asked, but I for one will not turf a dog just because my life changes. I'm currently a shade over 3 months pregnant and it's never even been a question of whether or not the animals will stay. I'd sooner lose a limb than give up any of my furkids for a shallow reason like that. We'll all learn to adjust together and that's that.

I think one of the thinks that really ticks me off is the excuse "needs a new home because he is getting too big" ....um hello you got an english mastiff/bullmastiff/great dane/insert other giant breed dog...did you think it wouldn't GROW?
Sorry...just had to interject. I'll get off my soap box now.

HAHAHA, thats how I read it, then the first thought was ahh like Kanye West...
Ugh I am a member on another board that has an ego maniac that had to have a corso, despite when asking all these questions and getting sound advise... he got the dog anyway, for dirt cheap because he didn't want to pay for it, then keeps it in the crate for 10 to 14 hours a day, has no time to exercise it, feeding it science diet and prounces it Cane (as in sugar cane) corso because when he was corrected on another website he asked his "breeder" and the breeder said no it was prounced like hurricane and the other people were wrong.
I have had to hold myself back a lot on those particular posts but if anyone wants to read them let me know and I will post the link so you can all see how well I have been behaving
I wanna see!!![/QUOTE]
Start at the top link as that is where the craziness started and the worst is the bottom when he shows what a wonderful owner he is (all of these posts take place in 3 weeks... lots of time to research a breed like a corso and add it to your home )

^ I agree I am so glad this forum isn't like that
while I'll admit I don't agree with what the guy but the responses are more horrid than anything...
I actually find most of their responses pretty mild compared to what he would get on an actual corso board. I don't disagree with most of the comments there and have had to refrain from posting a lot of what I would really like to say to this guy but in the end there isn't a lot that can be done, he has the dog and it is what it is... now it is the dog that will suffer His breeder is the problem and people like him
