I apologize:cool: just that type of environment brought back "bad memories" ( especially since I regconize some of the names from other boards) so to speak the tone con vied sometimes comes off as "hostile" unfortunately it tends to do nothing but stir emotion. Thus leaving the true intention of valuable information lost. No matter what we say or do that person is going to what they want, we can try to offer helpful advice to make the situation better but in the end its their decision. I've seen so many new people run off past forums because people were so quick to jump on their back and down their throat. That leaves to question what they are doing now? They will return to "bad habits" because they weren't "properly" informed.

I get people similar to that guy that inquired about obtaining a breed like Thor, I also know a breeders that do nothing but produce pups for profits. It sickens me what's worse is that I know them "personally" its disgusting.......I just try to distance myself away from that as far as possible.

I don't agree with sugar coating things either however I belief its best to leave your emotions out it. As you mentioned in the end the one that truly suffers are the animals due to owner/breeder negligence :( However could we also add "ourselves" for failing to get the true message across?

Usually I agree and don't enter into these types of discussions unless it is to offer assistance on a breed I am familiar with because you are right there are those that just can't wait to jump on people, but in each of this guys posts, he is given information that could/would help and he has disregarded it at every turn so I do understand the frustration in dealing with people like this guy. I think it comes to down to figuring out if the person really wants to be helped and learn or if they just want you to tell them that everything they are doing is alright and going to make the perfect dog. In the end the dog will suffer and we are seeing way too much of overly aggressive or overly weak tempered corsi ended up in our breed that makes situations like this make me want to weep :(

Can we get a like button on here like they have on facebook???

And I guess if you don't mind sounding like an idiot that knows nothing about the dog you own then yes, pronunciation is trivial...

WOW...

I can agree with needing to figure out their intentions. I love my dogs but honestly have never approached one from the views of most of you. Not breeding unless it furthers the breed. I've never heard such hog wash...... But with the LOGICAL views of many here, I absolutly get it and would not breed Kona at all. But now had someone came in there and started with the BS, I would have joyfully returned fire and no positive end result would have came about. The Fila thread, same deal. Every thing Juan has to say about cafib I've read on fila forums or web sites and documents. Except almost always turns quikly to a mud fest. So my opinion was I just dont care for any of them. But then we are able to have a logical and calm conversation on the subject, respect een where we disagree, we have forward movement all around.

Dont get it twisted though, I'll call an asshat an asshat in a second. You just need to figure out if your dealing with an asshat or someone really intrested in learning

I agree if you are interested in learning I and most people I know in the breed have all the time in the world to talk to you. If you aren't then expect the reaction that won't make you feel warm and friendly. When researching I got posts that were constructive, you just weed through those to the ones that actually help out. Which there were posts trying to help him out but he doesn't seem to want help :(

Either he's oblivious or chooses to ignore it, like I said I don't agree with what this guy is doing. When he stated he wanted the dog's ear cropped to look "meaner" well that comment made me shake my head. I have a feeling with as popular as the corso is getting it will be like the pit bull, unfortunately.

I agree with this statement.

Omg he seems.....utterly stupid, to say the least. And I agree with a lot of people who posted; why is he asking for advice when he does not take it? at all? He just moves on to the next post. UGH

It already is well on the way.
Personally I would have been a lot meaner to this individual, honestly, I would have.
A year down the road when this douche bag is on the news for his big tough Kane Korso attacking someone, it is the rest of us that will pay the price.
I work my ass off to ensure that my dog is a positive example of the breed I love. I am so fed up of ppl lacking in some area's that are destroying this breed to compensate for that short coming.
And what really infuriates me is the backyardigan breeders selling to them, and the breeders supplying them... Is a vicous cycle that has nothing to do with the betterment of the breed....
There, rant done.

^^ agree with what Cody said... the ones that are working hard to get the breed out in a positive light are the ones that are going to suffer for people like this guy and the breeder who sells to anyone for the right $$ :(

I can just look at a CC and figure it's fate is tied to the pits fate. Heard a lady on the radio saying if you think pits are bad you should SEE a cc. Her whole opinion in it's entirty was based solely on the fact that resemble large mean pits. Never dealt with one.

I agree with your comment Cody I just don't this individual would "get it" people are blind to their own desires so its the blind leading the blind. Unfortunately they out number those that are responsible.

What really sucks is that they don't even have to out number the responsible to ruin the breeds image. It only takes a few idiots to ruin it for everyone :(

The director of the Calgary SPCA did that here on National radio. Saying that the Corso, otherwise known as the Fila, we're monster dogs. She even went so low as to use the "what about the children" argument.
She referred to owners of these monster dogs as hoodlums who fought dogs and drove muscle cars.... Lmao
The funny thing was, a few months later, my 15 year old cousin's hockey team was doing the walk for dogs fund raiser for the same SPCA, and he took Raw as their wiener dog couldn't do the 5 k. When Ms. Cameron approached him raving about what a great, beautiful, well behaved dog he had, she also asked what breed. She was absolutely speechless when my cousin, being the smart ass he is, replied that she was the evil Cane Corso that she despises so much, as you know, they are uncontrlable monsters....
I had to hug him, much to his embarrassment :p
