* Hello Black Shadow Cane Corso. The dog from Borealis is not a rescue. She was an older puppy, 4 months I was told when talking to the breeder, from a breeding, and she was left behind - I do not know why she was still there. When I came to pick her up, I was told by Olga she was 7 months old, not 4 months. I was surprised, odd discrepancy, but I wanted the puppy. What now seems to be the case: the dog had spent most, if not all her time in one of the outside kennels. At home she destroyed crates as she became anxious when put in one - she ended up rolling the crate and bending the bars to get out(a regular crate, not extra heavy duty). Of course she was not put back in a crate. And I start dogs out in 5 minutes (or less) when crate training. She could not tolerate any time in the crate. She was put in the bedroom with a gate, and canine companions. Of course separation anxiety is not always helped by having other dogs around - the anxious dog is missing his/her people. My decision to bring my dog to a Veterinary Behavioral Specialist, was because she became hysterical. Not a little bit anxious. This phenomenally skilled Veterinarian prescribed medications, because my dog was suffering. She has been on medications SINCE that time - if off her anxiety spikes. To describe the destruction she has done and does will take much space, but it is not within "normal puppy destruction range". I am not someone with a little experience with dogs, and or have others train them (as stated by one very angry forum member), as a matter of fact, I have had dogs for closer to 20 years, and have handled dogs with different issues. The Corso is now 2 years 6 months, and her anxiety and destruction is still there. Would it surprise you to know that she continues to have house training issues? She is doing better, but clearly will always be a dog with problems. She has met with professional trainers - she is a lovely dog, listens so well, enjoys training, but is not going to be within a normal range ever. Yes!! I still have her! She has and is my greatest challenge to date. And for the forum member that felt it necessary to attack myself and others that have not had a positive experience with this breeder - "you're the one that should be put down" in a post about me - I work in health care. Clearly something has happened to this person, to make him (? In looking at the name) react so quickly with such anger - rage actually. I do not take this personal. People have different experiences and thoughts on most things. Such is life.
I am curious if the dog from Borealis that you are talking about here was a rescue or if you purchased one after having dealt with rescues before, just want to be clear on how you got the dog that carries this kennel name.
I am glad that you have had a great experience with your breeder but you are not the only one to be allowed to post your experiences with a breeder, and the others that have dogs from them do not have a favorable experience. You don't get to diminish their experiences just because they were different that yours.
As for giving an opinion based on pictures or websites that is every member's here prerogative. There are more than a few on this page with a couple of years experience that are used to looking at sites and seeing things that would be flags to them. Someone asked about this breeder and those with experience gave their reasons why they would not select this kennel, even if it was just they don't like the appearance of these dogs. They are entitle to their opinions and those that have actual experiences with the breeder certainly have more than just a casual opinion based off pictures.
