Bullmastiff needs a home

Howdy folks! I posted this in the wrong section before so here I am again.

Ellie is a 3 year old intact female Bullmastiff. She has experience in the show world and has won some ribbons. She has been partially trained as a service dog as well. Her history is very straight-forward, no abuse, wonderful with all people and children, gets along with dogs of all sizes. What I've been told is that her parents came on to some hard times and were forced to rehome her immediately as they were evicted from their home. Ellie is currently being fostered by a friend who has 2 little dogs and a full grown male mastiff as well, so she is eager to find her a good forever home soon as she doesn't really have the space for another mastiff.

The lady fostering her is not looking for any $$, just someone who will commit to giving Ellie a forever home. And preferably that someone should have experience with mastiffs. She has been approached by a few of her own friends, but she is being very picky about who she goes to as she knows the novelty of owning a big beautiful dog can go away quickly for some people once they realize the $$ that goes along with that big beautiful dog. She would prefer to keep her in Oregon...but if it's to the right person I imagine she'll see reason. (she just wants her close so she can visit lol).

One other thing, Ellie is fully papered and the owner will give those papers to her new owner as soon as she is spayed. She is very concerned that because of her history in the show world that someone will just get her to breed the crap out of her. So no papers until she is spayed.

Let me know :)

I would take her in a heart beat if we could handle one more. But, we are at our limit with our two boys right now. She is a beautiful girl though! Hope someone great gives her a home right away. :)

Easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission lol

My bf family is seriously thinking about adopting Ellie. He has spent his life with 2 rottweilers (r.i.p.) and a couple of small dogs that a very old. They have just bought a house on 1.5 acres in Pleasant Hill Oregon, (10 minutes south east of Eugene)
Is she still available? Can we do a private message if she is. Thank you

It was brought to my attention that bf means boyfriend. That was meant as best friends family. Im much better at building you a home or training your dog than internet lingo.

ugh. I'm so tired of people lying to me

Turns out Ellie has already had 2 litters of pups....turns out she does not get along with large male dogs...turns out she's an escape artist.

Seriously glad that my man put his foot down and said NO we are not taking this dog. Saved us a lot of $ and headache.

I hate to mislead people, so here is some more details I have learned.

Ellie has had 2 attempted re-homings. 1 was with a family with a larger male mastiff...apparently Ellie did not care for him and she messed him up badly enough that he needed reconstructive jaw surgery. 2nd attempt, she dug a hole under a fence and ran home to the lady that was fostering her. Since then she has escaped a couple times and the foster lady has had to pay a couple fees to get her out of doggy jail. For whatever reason, Ellie seems to get along great with the foster ladys other mastiff (large male)...so while Ellie is costing her a lot of money, she may just end up keeping her as she's proven she at least wont kill the other dogs that live there...but does dig giant holes and go on little adventures until she gets picked up and sent to doggy jail.

*sigh*

I asked why doesn't her original owner take her back once she gets back on her feet...foster lady's response was, and I quote "Yeah...we all agreed that it's better if Ellie doesn't go back to her". Whatever the hell that is implying, I don't know...

Sorry folks...I hate being lied to so it only seems fair to tell you all the truth as well.

Wow. It's really a huge disservice to the dog for them to not tell the complete truth. I hope things work out for Ellie, but I'm really glad you didn't take her and find this stuff out the hard way.

I would totally take her if she could somehow be transported from Oregon down here to the southwest for a low cost (or no cost, hee hee) :)
