Even though last weekend and the first of last week was a bit rough with Cinder being sick.... she has been doing very well with bed, sit, and stay... she still also pulls on the leash, but it's mainly because I'm not going as fast as she is... she is getting there...
During the many visits to the vet she did listen quite well when getting on the scale and sitting... also as we waited for a room she was very conformable with sitting right next to me...
This morning we had a bit of socialization with non furry friends... my son's preschool has a letter of the day/week... at the beginning of each week they have a letter and on Monday they bring in something from home that starts with that letter...
Well, today's letter was 'D'... his teachers have seen Cinder in the van a couple of times and they are always asking him about her... so it was no surprise when they asked if I would bring her in this morning... last week I kept them up to date on her illness and said that if she wasn't feeling well I wouldn't, but we would see....
She has been feeling much better, so this morning his class got to meet her... EVERY ONE was very well behaved!!! I laid some ground rules of staying back and giving her some space... and a little bit of time to get the excitement out of her system...
Cinder listened very well and sat when I told her to, and she stayed as still she could!! Each one of the 12 kids got to come up and pet her for a little bit.. some were shy and some were not so shy... I think she licked each and every one of their little hands!!
Cinder only got up from her sit position a couple of times, and it was because one of the not so shy kids came up a little fast or was a little overzealous with the petting... Cinder would get a little excited and her butt came up... but she really refocused well with correction!! For a 4 month old pup... she did very well
Even though the whole encounter lasted about 10 min, I'm extremely proud of how Cinder performed... a month ago I would of declined the teachers request... and im not saying she is ready for events like this every day, but she is showing progress.
