English mastiff puppies

It really depends on the lines. Every dog is different. I thought Daisy was going to be on the smaller side as she was the runt of the litter but she has grown into herself. There are several growth threads where folks have logged their pups weight by week. I put Daisy's in Bonz thread, but search for the word growth you should findn lots of different dogs to look at.

Okay thank you! I'm getting a puppie soon I just wanted to know the normal weight is. The breeder said 10-15 pounds. And he should be well over 200pounds as a adult.

For a male? I would think a properly bred male would be more than 10-15 lbs at 8 weeks. My runt weighed about 10-11 lbs at 8 weeks. I would think A male should be bigger than a female. I would think somewhere closer to 20 lbs. Especially if she's predicting a 200 lb dog. I would definitely make sure the breeder you are purchasing a puppy from is a reputable breeder.

ETA: not saying a smaller pup in the litter won't grow to be the biggest out of the litter bc I hear it does happen.

The reviews on the breeder were really good. I thought it was small too.. for a male at eight weeks.

(I've never met the breeder the puppie is goin to be shipped)

My female CC was 15 pounds at 7 weeks and her estimated adult weight is around 110. Just for reference. But like others said, it can develop to be 200 pounds. however, i think based on the current weight of the puppy it is not likely he will reach 200 imo.

I wouldn't worry about it much unless you're obsessed with having a 200+ pound dog. The most important thing is that he's healthy. Our EM weighed around 14lbs at 9 weeks and recently weighed in at 122lbs at 8 months. They grow really fast for quite a while and from what I understand, they don't reach full growth until close to 3 years old.

My EM boy was 12.6 lbs at 8 weeks. He is now 145 lbs at 10.5 months. His breeder thinks he will get to around 240 lbs based on how he was growing while she still had him. His parents were 220 lbs and 190 lbs. So it is possible for a puppy to be that small at that age, in fact he was the largest in his litter.

Denna was one of the largest in her litter - she was 14lbs at 7 weeks. I expect her to grow to be her mom's weight - 185lbs. (Her dad was 200lbs at 2 yrs old...)

Sounds like there's a wide variety of starting (and ending) weights. :)

Bentley our male EM was 22pounds at 8 weeks when we brought him home. He was first born and the breeders vet said even for an EM male he will be big, but he seems to be around the same as most of the other boys on here. Now at 13 weeks he's 41.1

Mufasa was one of the largest in his litter and he was 18.7 lbs at 8 weeks, now at 7 months I believe he is in the 120 range.

I have a record of my puppy, and I got mine at 4 1/2 weeks of age and he weighted 10.2 lbs at 6 weeks and 20.5 lbs at 9 weeks and 32.8 lb at 12 weeks. So as you see they gain weight rapidly up until 6 to 8 months differs in each dog.

Good luck with the new pup. And don't worry about the weight too much just look at the parents. Most pups tend to follow their parents looks and character.

RC + Windy City = ? ? ?

oh wow, after reading these responses it seems like the starting weight doesn't matter that much! ha Stella was 14 pounds at 7 weeks just like Denna, but there is no way that Stella will ever get as big as Denna. So I take back my previous statement as now I totally think it is possible for your pup to reach 200 pounds :)

Knowing the adult size of your pup will get to be 200+ lbs = $0.42

Knowing the adult phenotype and temperament is spot on to the breed standard = priceless

My EM was 17.2 lbs when I got him at 8 weeks. He'll turn 8 months on Feb 10th, and I weighed him today and he's 118.6 lbs.

Trust me weight definitely isn't everything and 200lbs is a lot of dog to be dealing with...Our boy at 2 years and 3 months weighed in at a lean 185 lbs and is still growing and maturing...our thoughts are we are very happy with what we have and he could stop growing at any time as he has outgrown the car, his crate, and is quite the challenge to walk when he gets excited so enjoy what you have no matter what size they end up being...all in all he is the most loveable, huggable, loyal dog we have ever owned and that is what is important to us as a family...

What she said^^^. I personally hope my boy doesnt exceed 200lbs. While he probably will because of his genetics IMO anything exceeding that will stress his joints/bones that much more and could shorten his lifespan from what i've read.
