'Ginormous' crate

My husband said that Sage needed a new crate because her head touched the top when she was sitting down. I told him that she's only in it to sleep but according to him she still needed a new one. I asked that he pick out her forever crate and this is what he found. Now mind you...I have mini mastiffs. They are both on the shorter side but almost a year old so I'm sure they are close to done growing up...Sage will have lots of room to grow.

If I ever have to start crating Kryten again this is the crate I will have to get. He too is on the shorter side for a mastiff but long and thick.

That IS ginormous! I'm hoping Lillie isn't going to need a bigger crate... But if she does, this is probably the next bigger size.

Well I told my husband that we are keeping it forever. I'm kind of pissed it didn't come with a separator so I could use it for another puppy, but I told him when it's time for our next pup there is no reason we can't get a Dane. In 10 - 12 years I might be on the boards asking about a good breeder.

I think I bought the same crate. Originally bought it for my sick rottweiler (couldn't free roam the house anymore) He hates crates so I wanted one with 'room' and I knew I would get a larger dog once he had passed. The box had a picture of a giant English Mastiff on it, but even now I do like the size, but the thing is probably a foot taller than it needs to be. Oh well hah.

I had one just like that for Solo...nice divider and everything....he tore that thing up like it was a tin can.

The one I got had a picture of a Great Dane standing up in it. It's just crazy how much room the thing takes up.

I have three of those crates, two at home and one at work. The do take up a ridiculous amount of space. It's a good size for my dane, and very large for my Doberman, but I wouldn't be surprised to find myself with multiple danes one day.

This is when you start replacing furniture with dog crates, lol. We had crates in multiple rooms when Lillie was little, so she could still be with us if we couldn't watch her closely. I just put a veri kennel at the end of the couch instead of the side table, worked perfectly!
