Now to the bad news...found out today that my big guy has hip dysplasia. I need advise! It's a mild form, and our vet says he shouldn't need surgery, but he is very sensitive to pain and cries(loudly) every time he gets up. He is an AKC registered bullmastiff. He will be 2 Nov. 1. He weighs 77 lbs. He won't jump into the car...gets his front legs up, then I lift him the rest of the way. The vet perscribed 2 100mg Norocarp daily. An I am currently giving him a Glucosamine supplement by Pro-sense, which my vet says is good enough. I'm not convinced! I'm concerned about liver damage with Norocarp, and I don't think the supplement is enough. We live in a rural community, the vet is a cattle vet. Any ideas where I should go from here. I can't handle the cries...I cry with him.
I've done a little research and found out about "Hubrihound" Anyone familiar with this? Thanks so much for any assistance!
