I never noticed his tail being so dark before. From the pictures it looks like it might even have a ring of black around it. Again and your probably getting tired of hearing me say it but I have to.. Beautiful pup

Thank you Dale, and it is a ring on his tail, his older full sister never lost hers so I imagine he will keep it as well, towards the tip it turns darker, so it looks like their tails were dipped in something, lol.

Slinger girl . I think it is about time for you to give up another picture of that pup of yours. Of course it goes without saying that you should tells us all how much he weighs now also... Lol

Ahhh, well didn't want to spam the board with pics, but since you asked, lol . This was last Thursday, 12 weeks, we went to the vets he weighed 53 pounds. I probably wont weigh him again until his Rabies vaccination and after that I typically don't weight until about a year, just to see where we are sitting at as compared to others I have bred. More important than weight to me is proportion and bone.

What do you see him weighing and height at a year? Compared to your others that you have bred. From what I remember from another post of yours. Your dogs are getting to be around 185 at a year and topping out around 210? I could be wrong but that's what I seem to remember

That's about right Dale. Achim's father was only 180-185 but nicely proportioned and he comes from big lines that gain most of their weight around a year. Selah, his mother, having similar lines do about the same, with a bit more weight between 1-3 years.

Achims full brothers turning two in August are 195-215 according to their owners and that is probably about right for my lines. I don't see a boy going over 220-225 unless he is fat, which of course just isn't healthy.

That said with my upcoming litter I bred to a nice nice boy that has thrown some fabulous puppies when crossed with similar pedigrees as mine, he is much bigger than I normally breed to, but he is very well proportioned.

Yay! New pictures. He is so stocky, and making me have puppy fever. I get so excited when there are new pictures of Achim.

Then one day, Achim sprouted legs ! Soon we will be entering a phase that I will constantly need rose colored glasses (or a blind fold) to view him with, lol
