I wasn't sure. I know they are used in training fighting dogs.

Here is the def. from the web.

  • (Bait (dogs)) Bait or Baiting is the act of worrying or tormenting a chained or confined animal by setting game dogs upon it for sport. The dogs bite, and tear to subdue the opposing animal by incapacitating or killing it. Baiting is a blood sport used for entertainment and gambling. ...

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is beyond disgusting. The laws regarding animal cruelty need to be alot harsher then they are. Bless you both for saving her

Just a little worried. The lady that has her said Kismet growled at her dogs when they rushed in to see what she was hiding.

Oh Crap!

Countdown is on. If the weather holds off. We will be leaving here in about an hour! I expect to be home around 9pm central time. Hope to get some pics posted in the morning.

Thank you all for the kind words and support. I feel like she is now the forum's rescue. I will try to keep updating pictures:)

I love the name, by the way! I am sure she is scared to death but you two will show her in no time that there is nothing to be afraid of and she will be a part of the pack before you know it. :)

I wouldn't worry about the growl too much ab. She has been thru so much and is scared and very hungry. If she had to fight for food or wasn't given any then this reaction is to be expected. If I was starved and abused and God knows what and couldn't speak I would be pretty grumpy and would voice an opinion if I thought I could lose the most precious thing to me, food. You'll be ok if you take it slow and think about it one step at a time.

Go slow and carefull, don't allow your dogs to rush her when you bring her in, or untill she's had a chance to settle a bit. But also give her blankets with lots of your other dogs's smells on them to get her used to it.

I may be able to put you in touch with someone who owns several catahoulas if you want?
