I always laugh at people when they say is he viscous? One day I was at my end with stupid people. So I explained that he was so viscous that he sat and let the 8 year old girl I baby sit brush his teeth for half an hour. Just because she felt like it. That's pretty vicious if I do say so myself. Lol

Haha. Love it.
My friend has grandkids, and there afraid of my big girl Maddie, but she doest care, she goes up to them and gives their faces a good cleaning. Haha. She doesn't even move when they play with her lips. Haha.

I once had a lady come up to me; before I had my boy Trigger, with this little yappy white fuzzball, Papillon type dog. Cute as a button. Haha.
The only problem is, this woman super humanized her dog, and dksnt recognize how rowdy he was being!
I was at the swings with Maddie, just talking to her about how hard my day was, and what we'd do when we'd get home(Haha I know), and this woman; she meant well, asked if Maddie was friendly. Before I even answered, she Awas walking over to us. The little dog was ready to tear Maddie's head off, and shea just sitting there gazing at me, glanced at the dog and continued gazing at me.
He got a little closer,I got uncomfortable, said to the woman "yes she is, but please don't bring your dog over here" she of course didn't listen and of course Maddie barked and stood on front of me, as if to protect me from this little lunging puffball. Haha.
She of course was fine once I told her no, but that little dog... Man.

That's another thing that bothers me! I can't could t how many times a smaller cute dog has upset me because the owners!!

I forgot about: "Wow! I bet you need a shovel to clean up after that dog!" Well, no, actually I don't! You'd be surprised at how much quality dog food helps in that department!

Haha I've gotten that. Haha
Little do they know, a raw diet pretty much has their "mess" gone in a day or two. Haha

My favorite " you wanted ponies, right?"

For our DDB we are asked if she is a pit bull, shar pei, or what kind of mix is she. They also ask how the puppys are. (She is still saggy from previous litters, I was told she had 2 litters and it had been a year or two, but who really knows.) I respond to the puppy comment that sometimes, even as humans, our bodies don't always go back to their prebaby figure. That shuts them up.
For our APBT we are told that we can't trust him and he will hurt our kids.
When we are out in public with one or both of the dogs, people will jump out of the way and look terrified, especially if they have small children. Meanwhile, we have our 3 kids with us. That is the most offensive thing to me. I joked with my husband that next time someone jumps out of the way looking scared, as we walk past them I am going to lean toward them and say, "SHE'S GONNA GET YA!" just to scare the hell out of them. (I really wouldn't, but it makes me feel better thinking about it.)

Well, I've only had a few so far but the most common/annoying is when people ask "what did you do to his ears/poor ears?" referring to the crop.

One lady at the dog park even got kinda mad and went all "PETA" on me, which of course my response was "Is your dog neutered?" ....."Yes"....."Oh poor dog, why would you mutilate him like that"(Mocking her comments. I have nothing against neutering lol)

Oh and one that always gives me a good chuckle is when people call Cane Corsos "Kanye" Corsos Lmao

Haha, some people call them "King Corsos" around here.
I also get told I have a pretty cane corso or bull mastiff.
I get the cane corps a bit, but not the bull mastiff baha

What kinda bugs me is when I tell people about my pup, they reply: "you do realise how big it will get". I just bugs me lol makes me think they believe i haven't done the research or i am not prepared.

Another is the whole "He will destroy your house" comment.

I got that once from a guy when I first got Mateo as a pup (he was a stranger.) He kept saying to me, "Do you realize what you have? I don't think you understand what kind of dog you have...what he's gonna grow into. He's gonna be huge...do you realize that?"

I was so pissed. Like I was some dumb chick who bought this pup because he was cute (never mind that I spent over 3 years researching mastiff breeds- and the DDB in particular...).

I get that too a lot I guess because I'm 5'1 and 140lbs but I'm well aware how big my girl will possible get. This is why training is crucial smh. I do feel like because I'm a female I'm underestimated.

I think above all else the discussion with poop size irritates me the most. Why in the world would someone want to talk about the size of a dogs poop?

I get the "Who is walking who" remark which is ridiculous because Ruger walks like a dream on a leash.

I have had people ask me if I let "it" inside the house as if he really is a horse. I try to be patient with the saddle thing but I am just SO tired of hearing it.

I actually had one guy who tried to approach without asking (I stopped him and told hom to back off) say "That dog is way too big to be acting like that" (Ruger let out a growl when I tensed up and told him to back off). Too big to act like that? He was completely calm, never pulled or lunged and just gave the guy a warning..??? How big can a dog be for it to be acceptable?

Sigh......

I just remembered another comment that is wholly inappropriate--- "How much did you pay for him?"

By random strangers, of course... I have had people walk up to me, with their first question is how much did he cost? I usually answer that he was a gift.

Of course, the other night one guy saw Mateo, looked at me and said, "now that's a $100,000 dog, for sure." He was serious, LOL.

New here, picking up my EM pup in January. I'm already getting the whole "glad I don't have to pick up the poop" or "you're going to need a shovel" comments. Also getting the annoying "so you know how big he is going to get?" Really frustrating. As far as my past dog (Great Dane), I got tech whole horse and saddle thing a lot. As far as petting, I'm not one of those that minds that, in fact I like it. I want folks to get a hands on positive experience with our giants. A little unsure why folks don't like it. I was always at least asked and my response was always yes.

I have to agree with little dog owner's remarks about my dogs eating their dogs. When Zeek and I were in obedience class, Zeek was great! Calm, focused and curious. Meanwhile their little dogs are losing their minds at the sight of a large dog - lunging and trying to jump up in his face... and their worried about my dog eating their dog??? Are you not seeing what I'm seeing???

I'm stealing the line about little dogs giving them diarrhea. :)

We get the "how much odd you pay for him" comments. I only fess up if it's somebody who is interested in getting one... Though the never do. If it's college kids I just say ALOT ... And other people I say enough. ;) it makes me uncomfortable because we live in a smallish town & I don't want to be gossiped about for it. Though we don't show or anything so I know we didn't pay what many people do for a mastiff breed. He was an investment for our family - waaay better than the amount of money some of our friends drop on video gaming systems & games for themselves & their kids. :D

I get a lot of "aww what a cute terrier! She's around 3 years old, right?" I tell them that she's a mastiff mix and she's only 2 1/2 months old. "Oh! She's going to be huge isn't she! Why would you want a dog that big!? Aren't you worried about her biting your kids?"
...because they are better than some little ankle biter that would most likely bite my kids.

Haha. I've never seen or been bitten by a large breed dog. Only repeatedly by a Chihuahua. In the face. Latched on to my lip and later my nose!

I really don't understand the people who automatically accuse your dog for "making" their dog act out, just because they're one hundred plus pounds!
I find that super annoying.

When I walked Maddie when it was just her and I, I would have to fend off little yappy ankle biters who's owners let them have free range of the front yard. They'd come charging out barking up a storm. That's happened a lot. XP Haha. Maddie just looks at them like... "What in the world are you? You're weird."

When Kryten was 4 months I had a group of people get mad at me for taking such an old dog out to the dog park. They thought he was 10 and had severe arthritis. He was a very lazy puppy and didn't move fast at all.

I always get the Who is walking who?

Holy Sh*t is that a pony?

Where is the saddle?

Do you feed her from a trough?

Gets on my nerves. And I think I get it worse cause I am 5ft and 88lbs. Drives me crazy!!
