Time frame to edit posts

The edit time was shortened to be consistent with our other forums. It's something that is consistantly abused, therefore, it needs to stay where it is.

And now...can everyone see the edit button? I got a PM informing me that the user could not see the edit button.

When I'm on my ipad I frequently cannot see the edit button because it can take a full minute or longer just for everything to load! And even when I can see it everything still loads slowly enough that I there isn't enough time to correct even a single letter miss-spelling! I can understand not wanting an excessively long edit time, cause yes, people abuse it, but 3-5 minutes isn't excessive and would allow those of us on slower loading equipment a chance to fix typing errors!

I've done it from my phone, thats even worse, and it takes even longer to load (speaking of no enough time to edit!) i'll stick with my ipad

Well I'm glad to know that's not just me.....Even with 4g

Nope. It was part of why I started this thread in the first place. IF the ipad loads fast enough that I get an edit button then IF I'm lucky I can hit it, make my correction REALLY REALLY quick, hit post, only to then be told that my edit can't go through cause its been over a minute, IF I'm LUCKY. If I'm unlucky I hit the edit button and get told my minute is up before I can try to make my edit. And thats only IF things load fast enough to get me an edit button, which happens less than half the time. I think I've managed to actually complete an edit from my ipad all of once......

I hear you when I had a hotspot I would run into the same issues with my ipad. :/ So I just said screw it, and started using my laptop when I could. Now I'm stuck using the phone which sucks, but at least I have internet so I can't complain to much.

Sure as soon as I post that last one...there's the edit button. Doh!!

I think it's only there for 60 seconds after you post. Then it disappears since you can't edit after that time.

I would definitely vote for a 2-3 minute edit time. I always screw something up that needs edited and by the time you hit post. Refresh, re-read your post, hit edit, correct error and hit save, the 60 seconds is almost always up.

Why not just ban the folks that abuse the forums options? If they are doing that you probably will have to ban them for something else later anyway.

I agree, but like our society punish the many to punish the few.
