Oh one last thing-- well two--
when I was chatting to the lady with pup, I was watching the sire (who calmed immediately when the owner told him to, and even sniffed my hand thru the fence) interact with a goat, the goat kept head butting him and nuzzling him for attention, and then finally grabbed the dog's ear and lead him away down the field-- they were so affectionate it really tickled me...
Second thing is, I remember what got me thinking about the mastiffs- my friend brought her Sharpei to work one night, just a 5 month old, and in the new environment I was so amazed to see her doing her circuit of the place very calm and self assured and independent-- she was quite friendly, wag her funny tail at you and give you a sniff and then went on about her way....I got to know that dog as I visited my friends house alot, I really liked that dog but the look wasnt for me -- (I know Sharpei are little, but they have the personality similar to some of the Mastiffs ? right)...
PS I am very bad with technology and are a member of other Forums but have yet to figure out how to post pics, as I do not want a Flickr account I cant keep up with all my passwords and IDs...
