Yeasty smell, fur falling out around neck/shoulders/toes bleeding

Ive had brian 5wks. He stank of the tell tale yeast when he arrived. We treated this with:
Swappning the crap he was being fed, to raw diet.
Malaseb baths twice weekly, and betadine in rinse water.
All went well, no smell, fur grew back mostly. Lookin good.

Over last 2 days, smell has returned.
my financial situation has changed drastically, as have had to sell my soul to a high interest loan, to pay for CCL surgery for anther dog of mine. So when i say i am skint, i mean, skint! Ive cancelled various luxuries for us humans, and now its the dogs turn to chip in.

All 3 dogs will no longer be fed raw.
Question is, what do i feed that is cheap alternative? It must be dried food, as wet tends to get fly blown/attracts critters that can kill a dog in australia. Brian is a 1yr pup. Still growing dietry needs.

The other 2 are adult. One is a working GSD, the other a now retired rottie x bordeaux, who post operation, will not be exercising at all for some time. So needs to be calorie counting. But no special requirements for these 2. So was thinking i could feed all dogs same food if possible as that's easiest.

I am after advice re; yeasty dogs and cheapest/best dry dog food out there please.
ps. i will not be taking my dog to a vet. So please dont suggest. I have no money for this right now. I know that no money means to some folks, you do have $120 consultation fee. But today, i have had to go sick at work, simply because i dont get paid till friday, and so no petrol till friday. That kinda skint! lol

Yeast Infections for skin- Apple Cider Vinegar and Water solution. Use a cotton ball to clean the Yeast Infected Area with ACV/Water solution. Make sure that the infected area is dry after you clean it.

As for foods I am not to sure what is available in Australia but some of the better and "cheaper" ones are Eaglepack holistic, Canidae, Artemis. I have heard that Australia has Innova as well. Research these brands and choose the one that suits your needs the best.

Stay away from grains and starches as much as possible. That's about all I got.... I also tried raw for Mayzee, but had to stop due to a suspected chicken allergy. She is TONS better, but still has pimples and bumps, so I may need to find new food for her. Soooo, following!

ACV helped mine with the itchies and the shedding, takes about 2 weeks to a month for it to get in their system but once it does you will notice a big difference. I put 1/4 cup in a 2 1/2 gallon bucket.

My Chow-furred Duncan gets this all the time. the smell comes from under his ears all down his front side but no loss of fur. I just bathe him add ACV to the water and spray his coat with ACV and water. It goes away in winter to spring and comes back summer fading away to fall. He is also raw fed but I think it comes from chronic ear problems that I am always treating with him. I think it just seeps down into the fur.

I don't suppose there's any chance that you have a local raw buyers group to get some discounts on raw foods?

Maybe some hunters in the area that need to clean out their freezers?

A number of people in the states have good luck posting "I'll take that unknown, freezer burned meat" ads on Craigslist... I can find some of the actual text for you, if you want to try and go that route.

I'm hoping there's a way to maintain the raw diet but with cheaper meats?
I'm no help on dry foods... I'd spend a few days in the stores reading ingredient lists to see what the options are...

I'm having the same problem with Titan for almost a month now. I thought it was the plain yogurt or the raw chicken. I wonder if it's a seasonal thing.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation 2nd Chance. I hope that you can find a reasonably priced dog food that is grain free at least. Completely understandable if you to feed the cheapest food for a bit. Do you have organizations in Australia that helps out families take care of their animals while in a financial bind? I ask because we have a few here in the U.S.

I think we have a solution, in the modified satin balls recipe.
Brian seems to like it.
The cheapest adaption i could do was pork, and substituted rice for wheat products.
Pohm is having to be hand fed, as cone of shame post surgery, so is eating a little.
Bernie's so hungry now he's swimming daily, he'd eat anything i threw him.

There are agencies that will foster temp for you here.
They tend to be for er, smaller, less high octaine breeds, as have to fit in.
Bernie would suffer greatly, without a daily tracking/hunting/treiball or swimming session. Few fosters offer this. And ive never been separated from them. They even came on our honeymoon lol

After reading up on ACV, all my dogs are now on this. As of yesterday. But thanks for the ratio's, as recipes i have mention ambiguous amounts such as quarts < WFT is a quart? Quater of something clearly. and 1 teaspoon to a large dogs water bowl. < AGAIN what's large for a JRT is not for a bordeaux.

Ive have 4 litre buckets for water. How much would you use in your bog standard household bucket, which are always 4L?

The bald patches have hair regrowth after 1 week on new food. AND ACV.
Can i ask, as this is the only single coated dog i have had. Its gone from 16 to 25degrees here in Oz, overnight, and we are now in 'spring'.
Brian is shedding like you wouldnt believe! is this normal for spring?
And his coat is very shiny now, and feels soooo much better to touch. Not greasy anymore.

Ive got him on grain free food. Fish variation as unsure if beef or chicken is an issue yet.
1 x large dog bowl filled with veggies for breakfast. His hippy kibble for dinner.

Yes, very normal to shed when weather changes. Titan shed a lot this year when spring hit.

Good to hear Brian is doing so much better!

Ive turned into a dogue stalker. and my husband has been struck down with same malady lol
we were off into town, spotted a dogue in back of a car, there was a vets practice about 2miles up the road so we followed lol
and sure enough, owner and dogue got out at vet.
This girl was impressive looking, solid as a rock, 3yrs of age, perfect specimen. Looked sooo much in better condition than Brian, and was 12 weeks post whelping!

But having explained why i was stalking, i have been given a tel number for a local dogue guru/breeder/judge. And he's agreed to have me bring Brian over to see him at weekend. was so helpful on phone, very passionate about this breed, states he'll of seen most of the skin conditions they get over the years, and maybe able to suggest treatment in full, or adjunctive treatment to vet care.

People are great sometimes! What a wonderful pair of folks. Both owned by dogues.

Awesome!!

I rubbed some silver gel on Mayzee's ears earlier today, and all the redness went away. I'm hoping that changing her food and applying the gel regularly helps!

My DDB also developed bald patches over this last 6 months along with unusually smelly yeasty ears- I applied aloe vera gel and this seemed to help a little with the baldness - just had to get on and clean her ears out v regularly.
