Ive had brian 5wks. He stank of the tell tale yeast when he arrived. We treated this with:
Swappning the crap he was being fed, to raw diet.
Malaseb baths twice weekly, and betadine in rinse water.
All went well, no smell, fur grew back mostly. Lookin good.
Over last 2 days, smell has returned.
my financial situation has changed drastically, as have had to sell my soul to a high interest loan, to pay for CCL surgery for anther dog of mine. So when i say i am skint, i mean, skint! Ive cancelled various luxuries for us humans, and now its the dogs turn to chip in.
All 3 dogs will no longer be fed raw.
Question is, what do i feed that is cheap alternative? It must be dried food, as wet tends to get fly blown/attracts critters that can kill a dog in australia. Brian is a 1yr pup. Still growing dietry needs.
The other 2 are adult. One is a working GSD, the other a now retired rottie x bordeaux, who post operation, will not be exercising at all for some time. So needs to be calorie counting. But no special requirements for these 2. So was thinking i could feed all dogs same food if possible as that's easiest.
I am after advice re; yeasty dogs and cheapest/best dry dog food out there please.
ps. i will not be taking my dog to a vet. So please dont suggest. I have no money for this right now. I know that no money means to some folks, you do have $120 consultation fee. But today, i have had to go sick at work, simply because i dont get paid till friday, and so no petrol till friday. That kinda skint! lol
