It's all good here, Bob & Pastor Dave! :)

I'll throw out another thought on the front-leg-limp... you have a lab, too, right?
Any chance Chevy and Coal like to play? A Lot?

As a puppy (and now, too), Denna would play her little heart out... and she came home from daycare limping more than once. Hers did resolve with rest in about 24-36 hours. So, if it's going longer than 3 days... I'd be at a vet to see if it's something else.

If it is pano, you might want to lower his food intake a bit - keep him very thin. You want to see a few ribs when he's standing. You might also look at adding some vitamin C as a supplement to help things calm down a bit.

Hope he continues to improve!
Would love to see some pictures of you pups and family, too!
Welcome to the forum!

Vet Said

How about your poor dog? What did the vet say?
Our mastiff is doing much better...the vet said that he has some inflammation in that front shoulder. He got a massage and some anti-inflammatory "beef flavor" pills. I got the bill. He is walking fine now, and I am so surprised about the quick change. We are taking it easy with him for a week or so, and we'll see how he does. I allowed him to romp and chase too much, and ..... he got sore. My fault. He got to chasing with a boxer owned by a friend, and they had a ball, but Chevy had this soreness to contend with. Thanks for asking.Chevy on lawn.jpg And, no, he is not flying with those ears....not yet. Pastor Dave

THANKS, DENNA'S MOM. CHEVY IS DOING MUCH BETTER. THE VET SAID THAT HE HAS SOME INFLAMMATION IN THAT FRONT SHOULDER, LIKELY FROM ROMPING AND PLAYING. HE AND OUR LAB PLAY, BUT A BOXER WHO IS THE DOG OF A FRIEND OF MINE, REALLY LIKES TO MOVE, AND HE AND OUR MASTIFF, CHEVY, JUST DID TOO MUCH. I SHOULD HAVE STOPPED ALL THE CHASING BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. THE VET DID A MASSAGE AND GAVE SOME ANTI-INFLAMMATORY "BEEF FLAVORED" PILLS. I GOT THE BILL. So, anyway, Chevy did much better last night and this morning. My wife and I walked the dogs and Chevy seemed fine. Here are a few pics of "Chev"Chevy on lawn.jpgIMGP6349.jpg And--no--he is not flying with those ears ...at least not yet. Thanks for asking!! Pastor Dave Could you tell me how to get a pic on my little mailbox like everyone else???

Ok

Pastor Dave, out of respect for the members of the forum., let's take the church shop talk where all won't be forced to work at avoiding the chat they don't want to see. I'll PM you with my questions and answers regarding things spiritual. Okay?[/QUOTE.....................................................OK...NO PROBLEM. PASTOR DAVE

I did not mean to be inappropriate

since i basically hijacked dave's thread about christ related issues, and am the instigator of the redirection, i was trying to be polite and not turn a question regarding a dog's health issues into a spiritual discussion on doctrine and dogma. Mixing the two, seems like a way to frustrate the folks that don't care about the things of christ and want to focus on the original topic, to wade through what may be a dry and convoluted discussion on dogma and doctrine. Now if nobody truly cares, i have no problem with keeping this stuff in-thread. I was not reprimanding pastor dave, i was trying to show courtesy to all.
i did not mean to upset anyone or do inappropriate gab on this site. I truly appreciate everyone's advice and care. I will avoid any talk about personal faith unless i am asked via personal message. I welcome this, of course. Please forgive me if i caused any problems or heartburn with any of your fine folks. Paastor dave

We are all adults here. I see no problem with faith talk. I am able to read and take the OP questions and still appreciate life talk. Sometimes it makes reading more interesting

Glad to hear all is well.

I agree....If I have a problem with what anyone says I simply skip right over it. Not much on this forum could be said to upset me because (here comes the shocker) I'm grown and control my own emotions.

Sorry to hear someone may have been offended.

thank you for your kind response. Sharing christian faith is my song, my prayer, my mission, and my calling. It is definitely hard to shut up, but i certainly don't want to act in any way that might be taken as unloving. Words without facial communication or tone of voice can easily be misread. Anyway...thanks for your understanding. Pastor dave

Chevy is adorable! I love his ears! I'm happy to hear that he is doing well. I also agree with what others have said, if I am reading something that offends me I skip over it and don't engage in the comments, that's what being a mature adult is about. I certainly don't take issue with other peoples faith. Welcome to the forum Pastor Dave!

Hey there Pastor Dave! Did anyone get back to you on your little picture question? It is called an avatar, and you can set one in your personal settings, selected from pics you have saved on your device.

Thank you for the "avatar" help. I have taught in some serious environs, but there are some cyber things that mystify me. I appreciate your help. Thanks again. Pastor Dave

so, how did things turn out for the puppy? Curious as to what the vet says. This is only my opinion, bob but i don't think pastor dave should have to limit anything he chooses to speak of in his own thread.

We all grown ups in a world full of many different beliefs. This is his thread and he should be able to discuss anything he chooses.

There are plenty of threads that have conversations that are not dog related many that pastor dave would probably prefer to not read (i'm involved in a lot of them lol) but everyone in this forum should be able to discuss their own topics especially in their own threads.

hi, kris. I wrote a few words about the spiritual aspect of seeing our dogs again one day in eternity, and it got "moved." i think you might have replied, not sure, nor can i find where it moved. Thanks for being open to a variety of subjects. Any thoughts about the "move" of my "see them again" post ???

Your post was moved to controversial section.

It was moved due to the nature of the subject. In the section I moved it to you can speak freely about things.

Religion, politics etc are sensitive subjects so we use that forum. :)

Hi, Dave. I did see that your thread was moved to the controversial section. I apologize for that. I've been in this forum for years and it really is a good place to come for so much wonderful information of the Mastiff's and there are some great folks here.

I would have never guessed that I would meet people in a forum that would become true friends but I have that here.

We discuss everything here from baking bread to having sex and everything in between. We are all grown ups here or so I thought.

It would appear that after all of the risqu* conversations that I have taken part in without issue that the one subject that is too inappropriate is God. I do apologize to you because I find this to be very disappointing and it certainly changes the way I see the forum for sure.

I'm of the belief that mature adults should be able to discuss whatever they choose and in the event that we come across something that doesn't interest us then we can simply move on but apparently that only works for EVERY POSSIBLE SUBJECT EXCEPT GOD......

Anyway, if it is your desire to remain in this forum and learn about this breed it looks like you will have NOT discuss your faith and overlook all things that bother you specifically. Again, I apologize because I thought this forum was better than that.

In order to find your thread, you will need to go where all of the different topics are and scroll to the bottom of that screen and you will see one called controversial or something like that. You can click on that (I think you have to agree to view as this is where everything REALLY CONTROVERSIAL is moved to. You will find your thread there. I did comment and mostly it was just what I said in this comment with a tad bit of outrage that you were being scolded for having the audacity to speak of that which matters to you in your own thread. My comment was edited and part of it deleted by the powers to be because apparently I crossed the imaginary line as well as you.

Anyway, I apologize that you have been treated badly and that your faith is the only thing that is found off limits around here.

Best of luck to you and your pup. :)

Best of luck to you and your pup. :) Thanks, Kris from Panama City. Perhaps I will try to find my controversial post. It sounds like you all have had some interesting conversations, and I am encountering more swearing than I expected...but that's ok. The one biggie for me is taking God's name in vain....using references carelessly. I notice you are a senior member. Great. I appreciate talking with you. I am no prude, and I shared something that the brokenhearted might find helpful. Let's talk again soon. I can't seem to answer your kind response......the site keeps telling me my response is too short...imagine that. Pastor Dave

No problem, Dave. The truth is that I'm probably the worlds worst with swearing as well as the fact that I tend to lean toward the inappropriate. The more inappropriate it is the funnier I find it and I'm sure that I have been found to be rather offensive by some along the way but I'm a believer in to each his own and we should all be adult and if we don't like it just pass it over. It would appear that there are at least a few members here that believe that their freedom of speech and right to say whatever they want whenever they want is indeed important but faith in God is offensive to them so they have complained enough to make the "mods" have to threaten you for speaking your piece. So much for rights applying to all persons regardless of their beliefs, huh?

Anyway, I wanted to be a bigger person and let you know that I'm sorry you are being "bullied" and not all people on here (obviously more than I thought) are like that.

Anyway, best of luck to you and that handsome pup. God Bless.

Kris to an extent I agree with what you are saying. However, Pastor Dave seems a lot like a troll to me. You and I spent time here learning and then helping many people before we ever went controversial and yes religion is controversial even between Christians. I could have blown up his other thread not as an Atheist but coming from a southern baptist upbringing. Dogs don't go to heaven. Hell, the Pope just recently commented on how wrong it is that we spend so much money on our pets when people are suffering.

I think if the OP had been here awhile before posting what many believe to be controversial there would not have been anything said.

I don't know. I just assumed that the thread was moved because it was against the rules to post a religious or political thread in the public forum. I didn't think it was a personal thing and I didn't notice any bullying.
