Good Morning: I have owned Max for almost 5 weeks. He is now 13 weeks old and weighs 32 pounds. When I transitioned him to only the Epigen 90 he had horrific diarrhea. So that is no longer on his dog food list. The Solid Gold wolf cub seems to be the best so far. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions for another high quality dry food please let me know. Since my last post Max has gone through several phases. He is excellent with kids sometimes they come to our yard and pet him. He is very, very good but is a puppy and can be clumsy with them. His prey drive is kicking in and he gets that intense stare when trying to fetch adog toy or if my son is running with a rope or some other type of dog chase toy. Max's growling at my son phase is over. I always monitor my 4 1/2 year old and Max every second they are together. My son was guilty of playing to hard or trying to pull Max by his collar and Max at times did growl but never snapped or showed his teeth. As a former Rottweiler owner I was expecting this stage. I corrected Max every time and also showed my son what is good and what is not good to do. They are both in a good place now. In fairness to Max the vet gave him 5 vaccines 2 weeks ago. Max was very sore!! There is still a small "knot" on his left shoulder from the Lepto vaccine. This was a very sore area and the Vet even warned me the dog would be sore for a few days. Max snapped at me last Sunday 2x when I went to remove his rawhide bone. He has NEVER given me any problems except a growl or two. I smacked him the 2nd time and that night and the next day fed him by hand to reinforce where his place is. My son, Max and I go to the park, the lake, ride in the car and walk in the woods almost every day. I try to bring Max to daycare when I pick up my son. Max loves to greet James and will sit on his lap in the car seat for hugs and kisses from my son. I believe I am doing everything correctly. Ohh the Vets I go to and another who I know through a mutual friend- have nothing nice to say about the Corsos they have seen in their practices. Sorry for no pics but the home computer is dead and I am not sure how to post a pic from my Verizon phone???? Any suggestions feel free to let me know.
Thank you,
Dan
