Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant dogs that are already in the home. Here is another question aren't they putting the dogs health in jeopardy fixing them that young? It concerns me with the horror stories that I have read of fixing a giant breed to early

Yup, but I've yet to meet a rescue who'll trust that the new owner will actually spay/neuter and not breed their new purebred pup. Its standard practice for every rescue I've ever talked to. Hard to balme them and since they have legal control of the dog till its in its new owner's hands they have the right t make at decision.

We really don't have space. Now if we ever do the renovations we plan to we will, but not righht now. They've got my name with a standing offer of transport in the upstate NY area and short term foster, but thats all we can do at the moment.

Gus: is a 3yr old male who is to big for transport requiring a crate. According to the TM rescue Gus needs a home without male dogs, but otherwise gets along fine with everyone he meets.

Lyric: is a 4month old female (her adult teeth are just showing), who is heartworm positive. She is listed as being good with everyone and everything. She is availible for adoption now to a family who can manage her treatment.

Tallulah: is a 3yr old female, who has an odd bone growth that is being checked out but is otherwise a healthy girl. She has so far done well with everything they've tried her with.

It's insane to me that a 4 month old pup would already be testing positive for HW. I thought the worms took about 6 months to mature & be able to be picked up with a blood test. Hmm...

They're all very beautiful & I need to quit looking!!! Tallulah is especially gorgeous!

They do, and the rescue was quite surprised too. I can't imagine she's got a BAD infection, I just don't think its physically possible. Her treatment ought to go very quickly.

If its not a bad infection, they may be able to treat with sentinel. My vet did this for my grandpa's dog as stage 1 of his treatment. Obviously she needed the injections as well but a pup that young may be able to take lighter course of treatment.
