A coworker and I began talking and it turns out he has a Neo and for those of you that don't know I have a Corso. Immediately he had a question that he has been wanting to ask another mastiff owner about. Something that his dog does that he called "very strange" and was wondering if it was a mastiff thing or just his dog being weird.
His dog will be running through the woods and will come upon underbrush, and then immediately go into slow motion through it while it rubs along her fur. He said she can be running full speed, and then go into, what he described as a 6 million dollar man slow motion walk, and once through the bushes back to full speed. Some times even circle back and do it again. He hopes to catch it on video one of these days, because the way he described it sounded hilarious. His best guess is that the dog loves the feel of the branches rubbing its fur, and just wants it to last so walks extremely slow.
My corso does nothing of the sort. He attacks any branch, stick, grass, leaf, and so on with vigor. And he seems to intensely dislike all of our landscaping. He has never, to my knowledge, taken the time to feel branches against his fur, let alone enjoy them, because they are his mortal enemy.
So has anyone else out there experienced there dogs doing anything similar? His question got me wondering.
