Which was why I asked if anyone read russian lol, translation apps are fine for a page or so, but they get just enough wrong, that its hard to do several pages....

So I Sent:

Do you have any other pictures of him? He's very handsome!

and got back:

Do you know anything about this breed and how to raise him? This is a very rare and royal dog and am willing to accept a reasonable offer from someone who knows about how to raise him and care for him and also knows his value.

With these pictures:

68277.jpg68280.jpg

Interestingly enough those two, along with the original appear to be fairly standard stock photos of a TM used by a variety of Oriental news sites:
Example, and Example. And this one contains posts from someone who says he collected pictures and has pictures of what appears to be the same dog but older.

So I sent back to the "seller"

I find it interesting that all your photos are identical to stock photos used by various news sites. Do you have any photos of him in your home since you supposedly own him?

I don't actually expect a response to that one....

Hahaha, was just thinking was that person really gonna sell a dog that looked like that? and if he/she intended to sell it would probably cost an arm and a leg

I totally agree with Changsha too, the chances of a TM ending up in a meat market....they're just to valuable to sell!

The teeth on that TM seem super yellow for a 1 year old. Ruthcatrin, I think you're on to something. I wonder what they want if that's not really their dog???

Very bummed that someone in my Seattle would try this scam.
The news has been talking about how valuable these big Chinese TM's are... the one's that look more like lions... i.e "The Most Expensive Dog in the World" articles...
Contrast that with 'it was saved from the meat market'....
Someone's aiming for too many heartstring buttons at once.
But, I bet someone bites (besides Ruth, anyway ;)).

I emailed earlier today and just got this response, re: price and utd on shots, good w/pets/kids.

He is on all current vaccinations and carries on well with kids and other pets. I am asking a rehoming fee of around $500.

Oooo, got another reply:

What do you mean stock photos used in news sites? Are you calling me a scam or something? I would appreciate if you stop contacting me because am looking for a serious dog lover.

My response:

Well, you're the one selling a supposedly 1yr old dog using photos that are publically availible online dated 4 years ago, so you can pick for yourself which term fits best....

Oh, he's digging himself in deeper:

do you really know anything about tibetan mastiff? have u ever seen a one year old before? zargo is one year old weighs about 130 pounds and is about 76cm.so you dont go lecturing me about what u dont know.

My response:

Oh really? Well how about if you scroll down here and look at the pictures, the same ones you sent me:

http://tieba.baidu.com/p/1163601017

Which were posted on that site all the way back in 2004. And yet are of a dog that is supposedly 1yr old now? I don't think so. Try scamming someone else.

Or better yet, don't, since you're to stupid to manage it.

And yes, actually, I own Tibetan Mastiffs, which is at least part of why I knew what I was looking at.
