  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Found this listing on Craigslist~ just thought I would post it here...

I happened upon this listing posted Dec 24 when I was looking for a large crate for my new boy, thought I would pass along. Natalie

I am trying to find a good home for our 16 month old Mastiff. We just dont have the time to give her the attention she needs anymore. She has champion bloodlines. I got her from Ivy Bordeaux. If you want some pics text me and I will send you some. You can also go to www.ivybordeaux.com and see some of the other dogs from the breeder. Thank you. 214-862-8653

Call me a cynic if you wish but I suspect that when this person is contacted a price will creep in. Most breeders would immediately take back a bitch with champions bloodlines.

I seriously considered calling the breeder actually but I didn't know if that would be crossing some sort of line? It makes me wonder about the price thing also because I looked at the breeder's website and where I truly don't know what makes a "reputable breeder" by website alone it looked like they made an investment here.

I would contact the breeder. A friend of mine saw a Neo up for adoption and the only reason why she realized who the breeder was was simply because he was from a line she was interested in. She contacted the breeder and told her where the dog was and what was going on. The breeder was really happy and she brought the dog back to the kennel. Many owners won't bother with phoning the breeder so many times the breeder has no idea the puppy is being rehomed.

Sometimes the breeder is not contacted, especially if the person who placed the ad is looking to make a little side $$ from the ad. I would want someone to email me if one of my pups was up for re-homing, even if it was just to make sure that I knew it was going to a new home. I would not consider you a busy body at all, especially if I was not aware of the situation.

I also wouldn't call you a busybody, I think you are taking posetive action in the dog's best interests, which is just laudable.

Thanks for the encouragement I hope something good comes from the communication. I went to check craigslist and found this so I think I will stay off of craigslist for awhile...ugh....why?
We are looking for a bull mastiff stud to breed with our female blue pit bull. She is in heat right now so the sooner the better. If interested call/text at 832-748-3105 or 832-748-3242 (text only) or email. thanks!

Thanks Mary for posting what a breeder would want.... I have had the odd breeders dog in rescue, first thing I do is call the breeder and give them an opportunity to take back the dog! Reputable breeders have contracts and will take a puppy buyer to court! I have no idea if the breeder in the ad is reputable or not but she/he should have a chance to take back a dog or know this person is trying to resell a dog.

While looking at their site I found this on their contract info: "Buyer agrees that Seller will have first a right of first refusal to re-purchase this puppy if it becomes necessary to sell this puppy or place him or her in another home." And after seeing this site I can't see why the seller wouldn't be willing to take the dog back, they seem very interested in the well being of their dogs. I think you did the right thing by contacting the breeder. Kinda interested to see how this plays out...

I hope you flagged this add, it's against CL rules... post the link and I'll flag it too!

I found the ad, they're looking to make a little more that "a little side $$" they want 1,000 for her! (Which BTW is NOT a small re-homing fee so I flagged the ad!)

Oh my!! I didn't see they were asking for money!! Bentley and Smart Family weren't cynics after all! No I didn't flag it but I will now! All the breeder sent back from my email is "thanks for the info" so I don't know how it will all play out? I didn't see that they were trying to sell her for 1000.00 it was only in the subject line that for some reason is even worse to me than "looking for a home." That for some reason didn't seem so outta the realm of reality, things happen, people get second jobs or have to downsize homes or relocate all of the above...but selling her? That bothers me much more and since I didn't see it, it wasn't in my email to the breeder:mad:

bahahaha that is great reading! Too bad you can't "reply" to ads on CL like you can on a forum....I would copy and paste the whole thing for the 2 listings above!
