Ours crashed when hubs tried to feed a whole trachea through it. Small pieces went through fine but not a huge whole one. I guess we'll see if their no questions asked warranty is good;) lol

Yes, we got it working. I had to get a an ice pick, hammer, needle nose pliers, flash light and basically chip the sinew, bone and crap off the auger. That being said, it stood up to the banging I gave it. I had put a lamb bone in it, at first I thought it was the bone but after looking at it, it was all the silver skin and sinew that has wrapped around the auger and froze it. It is up and running like a champ. The Lem 12, is the one we got. It is made of heavy duty steel. With all the banging I did with the hammer and ice pick, it didn't even leave any dents or chips in the machine. So far very happy but we haven't used it very much yet. It works wonderful on chicken and turkey necks. It also worked great on hunks of pork. A whole chicken took less than 2 minutes. However, the hole that you put the meat into is small. You have to cut up what you put in it.

So upon calling the company we bought our current(broke) grinder from and explaining it does not work we are being sent a replacement for free with no questions asked:) hubs is disappointed, I think he wanted the bigger one, but I am happy. It is a good grinder and I now know how far I can push it and when to stop. No money spent on a new grinder means we will be buying a hatchet and butchers cleaver to make sure everything is small enough to go through ok.

TricAP, hoping you see this as PM isn't notifying of new messages. I was checking to see if you ever bought a grinder, if so, how is it working for you. We finally got our puppy. I'm too damn old to hammer is bones. A grinder is a must. :)
Hi Anglebears - no we never did get a grinder. Just didn't find one with big enough opening. I found a product on our RAW co-op that was already ground with goodies and for the amount we feed the Chi and boxer it is working great (company called Happy Tails here in WA.) So glad to hear you got your puppy! Took a little while off to deal with one daughter moving out of state, flooding, downed trees and then holidays. Never a dull minute here!
