How badly does your Mastiff react from a scolding?

The frustrating thing with my pup is if I scold him for anything I either get a bark like when he wants to play then I do my stern voice for him to come and he just pure dingys me grrrr lol strange that he never barks unless you are playing with him
Just yesterday we went a walk with my other dog and friend with his dogs and his daughter was on her horse . I had luka on the lead the whole time but everytime the horse made a whiny or neigh luka would ly down as if he was about to get beatin then be back to normal which was giving me a complex as I have never beatin him!! But for passers by I was getting the stare...
He does know if he's done bad but wish he would take a telling to stop throwing my older spaniel about like a rag doll usually has a mad spurt when he pesters her to death if I try to stop he just wants to play nite me which I do discourage to get the cheeky down on his front legs bark but he will grow out of this wont he??? He is comical and in his gangly stage very amusing lol

I gotta say, this over the top reaction to correction in mastiff's is handy also!
2 weeks ago, Brian foolishly thought it'd be a good idea to pop his butt on my sofa. He got a non dog trainer person's reaction - my husband, shouting like the world had stolen his toy at Brian for his error.
Hasnt been game enough to try it a 2nd time.
