Looking for a reputable Neo breeder, especially for temperament.

Hey all, topic made on this site.

I'm a 21 year old student and while I don't intend to get a dog for at least another year or so (due to living situation, cost, etc), I really would like to start researching the breeds I'm into just so I can get even further acquainted with the dogs. Not to mention, most breeders worth their salt won't sell a dog like the Neo to someone who doesn't know what they are getting into...

Anyways, I was hoping I could find some info on good breeders for Neos. Temperament is quite important to me since if I'm buying something like a Neo, I would like it to have the appropriate temperament...not a dog that has been bred to be like a lab (like so many different mastiff breeders do now). Any places to start would be great. Also, I split time between WA and British Columbia, so any breeders that may be within a reasonable drive would be a bonus.

Thanks for any info. The Neo really is a great looking dog. It also fills my need for having a true Italian breed :p

Welcome to the forum! I really don't know much about Neos, but you have definitely come to the right place for information, and it's great your doing your research before getting your pet :)

I'm in the Seattle area (Kirkland) - and haven't come across any Neo breeders, but that doesn't mean they're not here... I couldn't find an EM breeder before we got Denna, either... but now that we have her, everyone I talk to knows of one.

We need to have a Seattle Mastiff Meetup!!
That would be a great place for you to meet some of us crazy mastiff people in person. Maybe someone would be willing to share stories in person that doesn't want to commit them to the internets?

Haha that could work. Just getting in touch with the breeders of different mastiff types would be cool. I know that just outside of Vancouver there is a well regarded Presa Canario breeder, which was another person I plan on getting in contact with (Presas and Neos are my favourite mastiff breeds(.

One of our trainer friends just adopted a Boerberel from a litter she did a temperament test on here in Woodinville, WA... apparently they PASSED! LOL.
PM me if you'd like her contact info.
