Newbie with *Lovable Mutt* needs some guidance

This is my lovable mutt, Tessa, she is a mix -rottie & possibly some kind of mastiff--??? ideas?

She has some odd behaviors that I've never experienced.

I adopted her from an animal welfare league.

She is 9wks in the 1st pic & 8 wks in the 2nd.

She is now 19 weeks & a complete mystery to me.
I was told these characteristics might be mastiff related.

1st let me tell you she is the most mellow pup I've ever experienced :)

What other weird characteristics does she have?

I can see the rottie head, but I'm thinking maybe a slight possibility of TM? I could be crazy for saying that but with her fuzz, that's what I think of. What texture is her hair? Is it super soft or more coarse? She's definitely adorable that's for sure. Thank you for rescuing! :)

She does a weird "scanning" thing--it's not your typical "wait & see".
It's like she's taking roll.

She is *extremely mellow* (understatement) & does not *over excite* no matter how much I jump up & down & act like a goof to try to get a reaction.

She's like an "old soul" in a puppy.

I found 2 of her teeth today--a fang & a molar--Yay!!!
By the way--I'm a hopeless dork & these types things really excite me!

Tessa is adorable!!! I'm terrible at guessing breeds so I wont even try :rolleyes:

What are these odd behaviors you're talking about?

She has lost most of her puppy fur-but the top of her head is still super fuzzy & soft.
I have *never* felt puppy fur so soft as what's om her head & face.

She is getting a sleek/shiny rottie hair type of coat on her body-but head fur seems to be the same.

I have plenty of pics showing her progression but can't find my wire for my camera at the moment.
I hope she didn't eat it LOL

I thought TM when I first saw her pic on the forum I first met Catia in :) than as I heard more about what she does it really reminded me what Ruth talks about with Apollo when she takes him for walks.

I figured TM's are so rare that she was probably mixed with Newfoundland or some other large long haired dog.

yes, her walks DO take FOREVER.

What used to be a 10-15 min walk in the park with my last pooch is now a complete project of 45 min of sit/scan/watch --it's crazy--she never seems to do it to the same person twice.

I live at the entrance to a school & a park with a playground & basketball courts.
By the time I had her 2 weeks-she knew every kid that belonged there.

There can be 15 kids on the playground running about, parents all over & a full game of basketball--she will breeze by if there is no one new. She does a stop, a scan-& keeps going, it's the weirdst thing-& if there is someone different she knows immediately. Then it's a whole 'nother type of stop & scan--she's observant in a way I've never experienced. I'm not sure how to adequately describe it without you seeing it.

I know it sounds crazy-but I also think she knows who belongs in which house too.

When I've described it to others it's kind of been dismissed-

Ya, I said the same thing when my vet brought up TM, I dismissed it. LOL vet is on the fence btwn Newfie & TM.

Thing is her muzzle is the strangest colors-it's like a silver with rust tips--LOL like a siamese cat--not black & tan like rottie colors (though she does have the cutest deep rust colored *seam lines* running up the backs of her legs.

When she had her puppy fur on her body, it felt like a thick lambswool--only on her body--her head & face are like bunny fur soft!
