Question on purchase price

The guy who I have given a deposit to on my pup has lowered the price on the pups by a few hundred bucks should I expect him to lower the price on mine? I am thinking he hasnt had many hits on the ad's listed at the original price like maybe I am it so what do yall think?

That worries me a little & makes me want to know why he lowered the price. If it were me, I'd ask why. And I would think if he is going to lower the price of the pups after you placed a deposit, he may still expect you to pay the initial price.

He replied that he has 10 left I am assuming that no one but me bit on the higher price....and grrr I believe he does expect me to pay the full price still

It sounds like he is just more interested in getting rid of them other than ensuring they found good homes? But that could just be me. I'm leery of people & that sounds suspicious.

I agree but all we can for is that lowering the price will at least give them a home. I do not know the breeder but what does he do with the puppies he can't sell? It sucks that you have to pay full price when others get the reduced price. I'd tell him that you will pay the reduced price for the puppy and see his reaction.

I would be really concerned. My understanding was that for most reputable breeders, the purchase price essentially covered their cost (which is substantial, if the breeding is done properly). If he's lowering the price, I'd be concerned that maybe he hadn't done all the health testing. Have you asked about the health testing?

I'm already half into this pup I cant walk away from $500 as mad as I am. He did agree to knock an hour off my driving time. I have no clue about pups he doesnt rehome this is the first ad I have seen from him..

I understand. FWIW, $1k is a very good price for an OEM. Good luck, and I wouldn't worry too much Paying a little more for the puppy. A few hundred bucks is a drop in the bucket when you look at the lifetime cost for caring for these giant dogs.

I would also be concerned about someone who didn't want me coming to their house to see the puppies, the parents, where the pups were raised, etc. There are definitely some red flags here.

I was thinking this also. Especially about seeing the parents. The breeder I got Duchess from had absolutely no problem showing me her parents. Even showed me a couple of her aunts that were also on site.

Yes health testing has been done thats why I chose him the only one remotely close to me who had done all the testing.

since you've committed yourself, i think you should pay the agreed upon price and not be too concerned about the other puppies

in a few months a couple of hundred dollars or so won't mean much in comparison to your relationship with the puppy
