Good morning!
Last night I got a call from my sister to ask if I would take a dog on which was in very bad condition, my sister is abit over the top on things so I didn't expect him to be too bad, how wrong was I! I went to pick the dog up and he is skin and bones! He is about 8 months old his nails curled into his pads which have affected his legs despite this he is a very loving dog! We bathed him and cut his nails with him even flinching! He stayed in a cage last night as I have 4 other dogs and he didn't make a sound or a mess! Unfortunately we cannot keep him due to having 4 others but he seems fine with dogs. He is protective over his food but I'm presuming that is because he hasn't been getting any! We took him straight to the vet got him weighed (30kg) and got him wormed he has had his needles when he was small!
It's a very sad situation for such a lovely dog! It's embarrassing but I will upload some pics shortly!
I've never had a bourdeux before so any advise would be great!!

Bless your heart for taking him in and helping him get back on his feet! Poor baby! i dont have much advice in terms of care being that i have never taken care of an extremely sick dog. But I would say just follow vet directions and give him lots of lovings

I'm in liverpool, haven't contacted any rescues yet as have a few people who may be willing to take him on once he's abit stronger! I've introduced him to 3 of my dogs now and he isn't bothered At all his only problem is he wants to hump them but I can't get him neutered yet as he is too under weight

If I lived closer, I would take him in a heart beat. Did they make sure he had no parasites, heart worms, ect. If he is clear of that add canned and reg dog food mixed together and feed three times a day. We have rescued many dogs that looked like this and this is how we got the weight put back on them. It is a slow process however, don't want to out to much weight on to fast.

Unfortunately he's just had abit of a disagreement with my other dog! Both are protective over bones and they found one I hadn't picked up! They didn't bite just barking at eachother but I can't risk leaving them together now! feel awful just need someone with experience to take him and can't find any rescues local other than dogs trust and RSPCA and I don't want him to go to either!!
If anybody can help please let me know!

I rescued a bordeaux cross ridgeback and im completly new to this and this forum its the most rewarding thing ive ever done so congratulations for also doing it! .He too was massively underweight and he also has and had many other issues, I have no other dogs, Maverick went thru a stage of trying to hump everything around that time but he soon stoppedit was just peserverence, and i havent had him done yet and he has just turned a year, They have a lovely but clumsey temprement. Maverick to was protective of his bone and would growl and show he's teeth to me and others especially my son, i took it of him and keep doing so now we both hold it whilst he chews it.
