Weight loss !!

Hello, its been awhile since i read the posts on this site. I have a question about weight loss. Maximus is now 15 months old. In the February i weighed Maximus and he was 160 lbs, yesterday i weighed him and he lost weight, he is now 150 lbs. He has gotten taller and is by no means skinny. Would the summer heat have anything to do with it? or the growth spurt maybe?

It could very likely be the heat. Is he still eating and drinking okay? How's his energy level? As long as nothing seems out of the ordinary I would chalk it up to heat.

If he's "by no means skinny"... maybe he's trying to lose weight so he's more comfortable in the heat?

Just sayin'...
:)

160lbs at 15 months. Wow!
Would love to see a picture.

yes, he drinks lots of water, and empties his food dish, still runs around and loves going for walks at 10:00 pm when the sun goes down. He is panting all the time and I did notice that he only eats 1 bowl of food now when he use to always eat 2 bowls. It has been over 31C for quite some time so the heat is probably getting to him. thanks.

could be just the Summer weight drop. I know my boys lose 5 lbs or so in the summer compared to winter. They are a lot more active because the family is more active.

Big boy! Titan hasn't eaten his usual amount of food (2 - 2 1/2 lbs of raw food) for about a week now. It started when we started hitting the high 90's and now we're into the 100's. :( Titan does this every year in the summer. As long as he is drinking, doing his business and playing his usual, I would say it's the heat.

All of my boys had a diminished appetite in the summer heat, I completely understand because I do it to!

Jade lost a bunch of weight too. But I think combined with her lameness and the heat it is to be expected. It is finally cooling down here and she is eating better so only time will tell now.
