  • Welcome back!

    We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

What would you like to see on the forum?

So back on topic, I think you're looking for more overall modifications (addition of sections or features), so I doubt this is really what you're looking for, but we had a lot of fun on another forum with a joke thread (did a search and didn't see one here).

I would suggest two threads though, one for clean and one for edgier jokes. Things can go downhill pretty quick and there are probably people who wouldn't want to read the dirty ones.

No that's a great idea voidecho. Please feel free to get things started in the Chit Chat section if you don't mind.

Boo! There's gotta be some good ones you can pull from that other forum. If not, we will definitely add it to our to do list!

Boo! There's gotta be some good ones you can pull from that other forum. If not, we will definitely add it to our to do list!

In sections you could have examples:

Health & Nutrition
Sub sections
*health
- seizures
- hip dysplasia
- elbow dysplasia
- diabetes
Etc....
* Nutrition
- dog foods recommended
- raw food
- vitamins
Etc.....

Training & behavior
Sub section
* training
- positive training
- pos/neg training
- marker training
- clicker training
- e-collar training
* behavior
- growling
- biting
- ha
- da
Etc....

Obedience & sports
Sub sections
- obedience
- weight pull
- protection
- agility
- others

I truly believe these would help others with stickies with suggestions in them and so folks could post in that subject

Thanks Deb! We are working on expanding each section of the forum it'll just take some time! Great ideas though!

Personally I can't stand a bunch of stickies in a group It distracts from the target forum. I like what you have there but would it be better to be in a set aside section?

The reason I said stickies not for everything but there is certain things that would be great as stickies so folks can go right there and get .. Just a suggestion

I know while I was in VA the vet I worked for wanted to send some of his techs to learn more about bones so I wrote a paper on Hip Dysplasia and I could see many of us with large breeds could really see it as useful. So it would be a great sticky :)

I could see your point with maybe just a couple in each respective forum. But When I go on the Sword Arts forums it is half a page of stickies then normal posts and it really is annoying.

Being new to this forum I think this is a great idea. We(newbies) all basically have the same common questions regarding out mastiffs. Until this forum which i love I never knew they were sensitive to grains or chicken.( Can't thank you enough Smart Family)I know there is a search function on here but it is not the greatest so we usually end up posting the same things over and over again. I have a few suggestions
Food-how much, brands
Toys/Acces- As these are not the easiest to find for these dogs as they destroy stuff, beds, crates (sizes), collars types for different ages & where to find large ones for our ponies lol,
Maybe a section on bloat tips on how to avoid or handle it if it every happens. raised bowls etc. (I understand there is a debate on the raised bowls helping stop bloat.) Doughtnut bowls etc.
Bathing- Suggestions on how often what products? do they have sensitive skin?

Just some that I could think of off the top of my head. I love this forum but some comments I have read on here makes me not want to ask questions as I don't want to be talked down to or made to look stupid. Everyone is here for the SAME REASONS we love our dogs!!

Thanks for the feedback Terie! It's okay to post questions when you have them, even if they have been answered before. I guarantee you'll always get at least a few responses.

I try not to post stuff that i can find easily. But sometimes we do repost the same questions and it gets old I know that is why I think Mikes idea is amazing and would elminate you amazing people repeating the same thing a thousand times. LOL We are all nervous about our babies and want to ensure that we are doing everything with in our power correctly. If I can help at all please let me know.(I am a stay at home mom so I have time lol) If I can think of anything else that us newbies want I will let you know. And of course a section on training because that is very important too

He wasn't around so I was just helping out. You should have a filter that when turned on it makes a post invisible to everyone but the person who made it:razzberry:
