Sorry only noticed this thread now but have to agree with others I'd stake my life on her not being pure breed but as others have stated not that it really matters so long as you're happy. The breeder by the way is lying their asses off But she is a pretty girl anyway. :)

Kudos to you for wanting to keep her despite she's not full-bred DDB. She's adorable and you love her... You are in the UK, correct? If you press the breeder that she is a pit mix, could you run the risk of loosing your girl?

Shes not pit im certain of that I know where the breeder lives wouldnt be to hard to kick up a fuss shes growing at the same rate as a ddb look how athletic she looks on the pic I just posted above.

I'm sorry but I don't see DDB at all in your pup. I have yet to see a lean, athletic looking DDB & the breeder did lie to you. I'm glad you gave her a loving home & that you adore her. I see at least 85/90% pit. There are red nose pits here in the states that would look identical to your pup. There's just absolutely no doubt about it. If you have to say that she's not pit bc of where you live that's fine more power to you but I think if you were pressed to do a DNA test on her then you would be severely disappointed. Are staffies allowed in the UK? You could maybe state that she is staff, but I think saying she's purebred DDB is way off. Sorry. I think she's absolutely beautiful & her ears give her character.

Yeah staffs are legal and you see no ddb at all? Strange same shape whats stranger is her mum was the same huge but athletic remember shes only 8 month and not filled out at all yet. She told me her mum was not bread small and stocky but lean and a bit taller has knowone ever saw one like ours? The breader saying she could be a thow back is that bullsht as I have nevet herd of it.

That 2nd pic looks like a poorly bred DDB IMO.

I want to say sorry that the board has attacked you regarding your dog being a DDB or not .. Things get put into lines all the time and most of the time it's bred out but on occasion it pops back up. I do not know if this is the problem with your breeder as she might not even know bc it could be 3 to 4 generations back

You have a beautiful dog either way

No one attacked them Deb. They have a gorgeous dog but it does not look like a purebred. No one's hating on that.

This is the second time I have read his/her post. First was when I posted what kind of ears and today, after reading all your post that is how I read and took it so could you imagine how that person is taking it or how others might too .. Food for thought

So are we supposed to sugar coat it and say that the dog looks like a dogue then? They came in asking questions and got answers. If anything needs to be attacked it would be the breeder's ethics.

I can't imagine anyone should feel attacked considering that nearly everyone that has replied has added how beautiful the pup was as well as talking about loving the pup regardless.

It was not my intention to make the op feel attacked. I was stating IMO that the dog did not look even the slightest bit a pure DDB. I think the dog is beautiful regardless & if the op paid a decent amount of money to the breeder for a pure DDB then he needs to take it up with the breeder & maybe recoup some of the cost to being mislead. It's obvious he loves the dog & to me that's all that really matters.

Guys his question wasn't "DOES MY DOG LOOK LIKE A DDB" it asking was about the ears ..
I am just stating that to me he feels attacked
And your point about the breeder really as a breeder, handler, trainer, competitor I have seen shit come out of lines in all types of breeds and its not always the breeders fault if someone in the dogs pedigree, folks breed crap in all the time .. Just saying

The reason the ears look the way they do is because the dog is most likely not purebred. Cause and effect. If the OP feels attacked, they are more than welcome to message me and I will address the situation until then lets just agree to disagree.

Christina I'm not trying to fight with anyone, agree with anyone or disagree. I was just making a point on coming back to the post and reading what I did
No more no less ..
