I hate people

Here we go again....

Thats Happy, the picture was taken from my front deck......This is the 3rd time in the last month I've chased her back across the street. She IS wearing her collar, and has been each time, so its NOT that she's slipping her collar and getting loose. Both previous times I had words with whoever was home about it. I didn't bother today. I just emailed the picture and a note to animal control....

I just get completely IRATE when I see loose dogs. What are they thinking? Hopefully animal control will be able to help you out somehow. Damn people should not be allowed to own dogs. Sigh...... Can't tell what kind of dogs she is from the picture.

Heinz 57 mixed breed. Probly got labeled a pitbull cause she's short and stocky. THIS one I know is spayed at least.....and no, I don't think they should have dogs. Their younger female (Sasha) spent half the winter on a chain with a doghouse, 24/7 (legally correct thanks to the dog house....).

Apollo hates seeing loose dogs too.....and I hate having to clean up after a dog thats not mine.....

I hate this too. Petey a PB Terrier that lives down the road is unaltered and gets loose all the time. He was visiting us on Saturday all by himself.

Last time I got a look at their male he was still intact, and he HATES Apollo, if HE ever gets loose when Apollo's out its not going to be pretty. They actually seem to put work into keeping him chained up though *rolls eyes*

im so baffled at the dogs running loose.... i would love to have tall chain link all around, but we coudnt afford it. when we bought this place, as a quick temporary measure, we put up the rolled fence from tractor supply that is held up by the metal posts that you just hammer into the ground. its been 5 years, and its not pretty but its really held up to all the dogs. granted, i dont leave the dogs out unattended, but for quick potty breaks and for them to be out with us it works great. your neigbors could probably fence in a decent potty area very inexpensively.

he's handy enough, plus two teen boys, putting up even a cheap fence himself would be easy. I don't know why they don't. And they HAVE tie-outs for each dog. But instead they just let her out the door to do her business and assume she'll stay in the yard....

I've got the same problem. Just bought a house and neighbor has 2 border colllies (1 blind and old, the other just stupid). Even though our yard is partially fenced, the 2 trot on over to "dump" in our yard. "They're not used to someone living there, it's been empty forever" Our neighbor says to us when we ask her to respect the boundaries. We have dogs too and we clean up after them and they OBEY us. We spoke to the previous owners of our home and they said they used to clean up the poo and leave in on HER front portch but, obviously, SHE doesn't give a rat's behind. Her dogs have gone after our dogs and our 3 year old in OUR yard. I'm afraid this summer she and her dogs are in for a lesson or two because we won't tollerate these dogs or their owner forever.

I'd have no tolerance for THAT at all. Check your local laws but if the dog is going after your kid the legal options just tripled.....

Can you legally answer the door with the shotgun in hand or could you end up in trouble for that (I could end up in trouble for that, but this is NY....)

Not really sure. I can tuck my pistol in the back of my pants, but I think he would actually have to step over the threshold in order for it to be considered home defense.

Well I keep the clip loaded when I'm home. When I'm not I hide the gun separate from the clip until I can get my CHL. Then I'll be carrying it at all times.

Good for you! I put in my request to get mine....first date to turn in paperwork and interview with the sheriff is over a year out....I'm such an idiot, I've been holding onto the paperwork for over a year cause life got busy, then NY got stupid and now wait times are through the roof.

Ruth you are so lucky you have animal control in your area to help with this. I know they don't do much but at least its something. Here in my county we don't have any leash laws, unless you are in the city limits, nor do we have animal control. We have to call the sheriff and get told that they don't have the time or sometimes they will say they will come out and check things out and maybe show up, most of the time they don't bother showing up though! A few years back our neighbors [drug addicts, the hubby is in prison for it now] decided it would be a good idea to get a great pyrenees. They never feed their dogs and they don't stay around long, either die or run off. Anyway of course they didn't feed her enough and so she started using our trash bin as her food source. And started resource guarding our garbage bin. I call the sheriffs office and they tell me they really don't have the time but remind me this is a castle state [Mississippi has a law that basically states that you are king of your castle and if you feel threatened on your property then you can protect your self by all means necessary]. I really didn't want to kill the dog so I call the shelter in the next county but they inform me that if I am some how able to catch the dog I couldn't bring her in bc I would be stealing the dog. So I was left with no option. The dog came up in the yard when the kids were out and charged my kid. We will just say that I had to handle the problem. And what gets me most is I offered the guy a tie out stake and chain and food if he would just keep her up. It was so bad that we couldn't walk down our road bc of that dog. So I totally agree with you about hating stupid people!!!!! Hope animal control helps you out with this!!!!!!

Sorry! I think I went a little off topic from your problem I was just reading through and got a little envious that you have some one to call in this situation!
