Thanks musicdeb! She is such a sweet pup. She has come along way. I figured out what the limp was about. Looked like something bit her paw. At first it wasn't swollen but it was extremely red. After a few days I saw a little dot in the center. But I kept it clean with peroxide and ointment with not much outside play for approx 1 week. It gradually went away. SHE'S FINE!!

Gigi started her 1st heat cycle literally 1 week before she turn 9 months old. She was so jumpy and scared acting. She had PMS like I have never seen in a dog. I kept calm and gave her a massage to help her relax. She seemed to enjoy it and she has been better but I can tell that she is uncomfortable.
I tried to put underwear on her and she didn't like that.
*WHAT CAN I DO TO PREVENT HER FROM RUINING MY FLOORING?
I have been keeping her inside when we can't take her out.
Besides all that, she has grown tremendously. Last weigh in was 65lbs and that was 2 weeks ago. Healthy and happy pup!

Oh does it last and how often?
She started on 02/07/15.

Heat cycle can last 2-3 weeks and can occur every 6 months but each pup is different. The PMS can be brutal at times for some pups. I would recommend a diaper to keep your floors nice.

I have tried to put a diaper and underwear on her and she will not have it! I am about to pull out my hair. She has relaxed little more and she is calmer so I will try again. She has been sticking to me like glue!

She will stick to you like glue for the duration of the "heat". I would advise all family members to be very cautious around her because it sounds like she could get snippy with them since she's attached to you.

Do you have a room you can keep her in that the floors can be washed since the diaper is not working?

I have been doing a lot of talking to my 10 year old son. She loves him but he thinks he's a superhero at times. But she is gentle with him. I thought I was the target, but I have been patient I do understand her pain.

Yes I do, I have hardwood and carpet in my bedroom & den. She has been restricted. I let her roam but I watch closely. It hasn't been really heavy so far.

Hang in there, it will be over in about 2 weeks. This is the reason I've always had male pups.
