Don't worry, it wasn't really and accident.
Susie talked us into the female puppy. We are planning to get a male next year. We were always planning on two dogs but instead of a medium and large, we are getting a large and larger.
I guess since the females are smaller, it will also give us some practice with the breed in a size we are used too. Our male GSD was about 120lbs. I'm planning on getting a trainer from Seattle Dogworks to come to the house to work with us and we also have a local puppy class starting in March.
We have a fence contractor coming out to install 6ft chain link fencing inside of the 5 ft cedar fence that runs around the back yard. I'm also putting a metal gate on the entrance to our mudroom. Anything else we might need to do to address containment issues? I want to make sure we have all of our ducks in a row before picking her up.
