What has your Mastiff eaten?

Not my EM again but my Staffie cross got into the cold room on my wedding day and ate part of my wedding cake. Thankfully, it was just one tier (the smallest) and the other two were untouched but it went from a 3 tier cake to a 2 tier cake. I started crying when I saw it but then I couldn't stop laughing because my mother in law was trying to salvage the eaten tier and my husband said, "We'll give that cake to the family members we don't like." He was such a pain (the dog) but so worth it.

Daisy hasn't really chewed anything yet but she is still young so there is still time. :p

Mine has been enjoying Christmas cookies today and was very upset when we cut him off...he's addicted to the chocolate chip cookies without the chocolate chips (my husband likes the dough for choc chip cookies, but isn't really into the chocolate, so I usually make a batch that doesn't have any chips).

Wow! I thought my lovely 9mo Corso puppy was excessive, but not in comparison to the posts here.

Socks, of course, were the delicacy of preference for a while. Newspapers are still fun on a dull day. No shoes, but he graduated to cushions and couch parts. Then floor coverings

I had to take him to the vet after he had a rug overdose and started acting like he had a blockage, it was a bit of a rush as I am a fair way away from the vets. When I got him back they were very insistent I view the 1.5m piece of rug edging they had er, pulled, entire, from the other end. He'd eaten the whole thing without chewing it, like it was a piece of spaghetti. They cleaned it and kept it in a jar for some reason. I had to reassure them that I had seen the edging tape while it was still on the rug and didn't need to confirm it's identification because I trusted their judgement. By the end of that little chat we were all rolling round laughing

Fortunately he didn't require surgery but he was touch and go for a while

He's just come out of the omnivore stage thank heavens, it was getting a bit wearing coming home from work and finding bits of the house all over the house. I rewarded him with praise and treats every time I came home to find a clean house, and ignored him for a night if something was chewed up and it worked really well.

My Boerboel was about 6 months old when she unravelled a piece of carpet and ate it. We didnt realize until many months later that unravelled, that piece of carpet was 6 feet long & sitting in her stomach :(

We had xrays but nothing showed (carpet wouldnt show, who knew!) except the rocks she was ingesting to help push the mass through. She was terribly sick, even went into septic shock on New Years that year.

We had NO idea that the carpet was in her and were actually debating putting her down because she was barely able to walk, couldnt eat, barely drank (if she did, she puked). What little food she got down, passed in a horrible explosion: wherever she was laying. She cried all.the.time. My heart broke for her daily.

When she passed it, it was dark outside & I thought it was her intestines. I freaked. We had to extract the remainder on the spot.

She hasn't eaten a thing that wasn't her food since: no joke!
