Boy did I come in late in this conversation! Had to go back and read it all to see what everyone was so upset about!? The questions I would like to ask dujac is why you are so adverse to having any testing done and why you dismissed it so quickly? It seems to me that is where the conversation turned. Breeders have a different mentality not a bad thing, they are more concerned with the future of the breed and take that responsibilty very seriously. Folks new to this may not have come around to that way of thinking yet. Feelings have been hurt here and this snowball has a life of its own. I intend to get out of the way. Your dogs look well care for and loved and the pups are beautiful. The puppy contracts are important to ensure the intentions of others. I just wanted to ask why, when you are so passionate about your dogs and pups did you dismiss the health testing so completely and quickly, especially after all the research you did?

I'm new here also and didn't understand the "stop the attacks " comment but it could have been taken several ways. Maybe bullyBug was pointing out that these were positive comments? Is that what you meant? They were meant that way. They weren't meant as attacks I mean.

Well, I'm in favour of closing this thread, as well. I think our work here is done!

To summarise, we started with an OP, preparing for her first litter, who had done some reading and watched videos, yet asked for fundamental information such as good sources of fat for the lactating Mom's diet. She appeared to have limited information on health testing and how/where to have it done.

i asked about extensive tests and was told that no vets around here do those

Now we have an extremely knowledgeable person, who knows all about testing and has years of experience researching and planning for this litter. Additionally she has an entire retinue of vets and 'real' breeders to address what few remaining questions she has.

Well done, all!! :)

On a serious note, I do hope Mom and the puppies fare well.
