Homer, our 4 month old English Mastiff, is pretty much 'potty trained.' Rarely messes up in the house. He has never messed up in his kennel. He has been one of the easiest dogs I have ever had the pleasure of raising.
He's very friendly and loves people. Loves them SO much, he often pees when he meets new ones. This is a double edged sword of sorts, as while we eagerly socialize him anywhere and everywhere it is appropriate to do so, we can't help but groan a bit when we have to scramble for paper towels and cleaner. It appears that he only does this with certain people, regardless of gender.
We promptly move him outside (if it's appropriate/feasible to do so) and avoid any harsh correction, besides a simple, direct 'Homer, no.' I've read that this is 'submission urination.' His temperament is typically very calm and docile; even as a young pup. And he does not get fazed by much.
Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
