I hate people.

I don't understand how people who're so crazy about keeping them as a member of their family can be so horrible and eat them like this! Even chickens have more space in their cages!

I remember watching a video sometime ago about the atrocities committed on dogs in China. I hate how people can be so insensitive, including skinning them alive for consumption!!! I couldn't get thru the whole video, I was bawling in the first minute, and the hubby switched it off!

They skin 'racoon dogs' alive for boot lining as well. You know the fake UGG boots you can buy? Well dont, the dog fur used for those boots come from dogs that have been skinned alive!

I am also a people hater.. but thankfully there were some good people able to help these poor dogs and get them off the truck...

Horrific beyond words...and heartbreaking.

But I'm confused...is it legal to sell and eat dogs in China? Then how were they able to intercept and save them?

In other words, if I saw a cattle car filled with cows or pigs headed to slaughter, I wouldn't have a right to stop them...?

I'm also wondering what will become of the dogs. After all, they're still in China, right?

I think it is legal but if you saw cattle or pigs in those conditions, you could call the police. They probably have standards for how they are being transported. My SIL is from China and it is a cultural thing. She doesn't understand why this type of thing gets people upset. That is horrible to see and I am thankful that people were able to stop the truck and save those dogs.

This isn't about cultural differences, this is about basic decency. You have to be able to look past cultural conditioning to see what is right and what is wrong. The only thing to take from this is the hope that this will happen less frequently as the chinese become more willing to enforce their animal protection laws.

They were able to intercept and save them because of the inhumane conditions they were being transported in contravenes animal protection laws in china.

I wasn't going to say but recently I saw a video of this and they were dropping the cages filled with dogs from the top of these trucks onto either other cages or concrete driveways. This either killed some of the dogs or broke bones and organs and cause major suffering. They believe that when the animal is in great pain it flavors the meat. I was really shocked and so hurt over it I couldn't bring my self to share it here. It really is heart breaking to see the cruelty of these people.

People really are horrible creatures. I will never understand how these people can justify this far less sleep at night. Thank goodness a person with a conscience rode by and put a stop to this.

I know the focus here is on the treatment of these poor dogs, but they do a lot worse over there. The demand in China for things like Rhinoceros horns are almost single-handedly responsible for the animals being endangered.

There is no funny part to it. I am unable to make or take lite of anything to do with this.
