South African Boerboel

Hi, I just wanted to introduce my big baby. He is a 2-1/2 year old South African Boerboel that still thinks he should be carried around and tries to sit in my lap. I laugh when people cross to the other side of the street in fear of my gentle giant.

Yup that's how they should look. Great looking dog great shape and his head has perfect conformation. People mostly are still attracted to my Jade and don't shy away from her yet, but she is starting to tell people to back off these days. She just had her first heat and I think now she is acting the adult dog part.

Qwazi, Have you noticed all the SABs with the short noses and thick heads showing up these days? It is really starting to fall apart and no one seems to want to stick to the original breed standards like yours and mine.

I have yet to see another Boerboel in our area, Bruce Peninsula, Ontario. We lucked out though, in that our vet had previous experience with a Boerboel breeder before he came to our area.

We got our guy through a breeder here in Ontario that has the mom and they got the dad's 'stuff' shipped from South Africa.

Lucky you. We have one local breeder in our small mountain valley and 2 clinics the breeder is a good friend since childhood and me and her know more about the breed than both clinics combined. But now there are about 10 SABs on our mountain one of my coworkers picked one of the litter up too.

No wonder your guy has such a good conformation.
