I don't think the breed is on the downhill road just yet. There are lots of breeders calling out the names of these rouge breeders and letting folks know what's going on. Just be cautious in your choice and check the breeders parent dogs. Don't just go by how the puppy looks or what the paperwork says. If they can't produce at least one parent and the contact info for the other then you should move on to the next breeder. I waited about 3 or 4 years to get Jade. I researched then contacted people and the breeder I chose was in Texas but I had a bad feeling so I decided to wait. Well I have a close friend that lives up here on the mountain and she got into the Boerboel after some bad heartbreaks with Great Danes. She brought me the father to see him then I went to her home and met the mother. I was sold. and she traded me Jade for a computer system with support. Jade is not papered or SAB registered but I know what I have and am happy with her.
Don't give up on the Boerboel, we are not beat yet.
